At 908 MST on September 12, a CoCoRaHS observer reported 0.75 inch diameter hail 5 miles NW of Mack, Colorado.
· 1.75″ (golf ball)
Between 1625 and 1650 MST, a severe storm tracked southeast through the Grand Valley from Fruita through Orchard Mesa, including the Redlands and Grand Junction, with numerous reports of severe hail from 1 inch to 1.75 inches in diameter, which is up to golf ball size. Multiple injuries occurred as a result of the large hail at the Mesa County Fairgrounds where an outdoor concert event was being held.

NWS employees and trained spotters reported large hail across a significant swath of the Grand Valley, from the Redlands area to the downtown Grand Junction area. At least 800 vehicles were damaged, including vehicles parked outside at six vehicle dealerships.
