A trained spotter reported hail 1 inch in diameter, along with 2.8 inches of rain from the storm that passed over the East Kentucky Science Center, located on the Big Sandy Community and Technical College campus.
· 2.5″ (tennis ball)
A picture on social media showed a measured 2.5 inch hail stone found at the intersection of KY-194 and KY-1427 in the community of Alvin.
· 2.75″ (baseball)
A resident of Beaver witnessed baseball size hail smashing out the windshield of her car. The hail also caused significant damage to the roof of her brother in laws home, resulting in holes in the the structure through which the sky could be seen.
