A severe thunderstorm dropped golf ball size hail on the city of Battle Mountain.

June 7, 1997 · 1.75″ (golf ball)

Golf ball size hail was reported by the Nevada Highway Patrol 5 miles south of Battle Mountain during a severe thunderstorm.

May 5, 1994 · 3.0″ (tea cup)

A tornado a few miles south of Battle Mountain destroyed several ranch buildings and blew out the windows of several vehicles at the ranch. The tornado had several witnesses and was also photographed. A few minutes later, severe thunderstorms produced golf ball-sized hail in Battle Mountain, and baseball-sized hail in Antelope Valley, southwest of Battle Mountain.
