Severe thunderstorms brought Ping Pong to golf ball size hail near Monroeton.

Thunderstorms in north-central North Carolina during the evening hours on the 2nd produced damaging winds and flash flooding. Thunderstorm winds damaged a camping vehicle and several storage buildings in Cherry Grove. Numerous roads in the northwestern portion of Caswell County were flooded and closed because of high water from heavy rain.
