A severe thunderstorm produced quarter-sized hail in Emporium.

April 25, 2011 · 1.75″ (golf ball)

Golf ball (1.75 inch) hail reported at the Driftwood Post Office.

September 26, 1994 · 1.75″ (golf ball)

A tornado touched down in the Elk State Forest. Many trees were downed. At Prospect Park, golf ball-size hail was observed. A storm survey was conducted by the National Weather Service and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Forestry. Due to the rugged terrain, path length was estimated. Width of the tornado was around 300 feet at its widest point, but average width was about 50 feet.
