Numerous trees and wires were also blown down.

September 7, 1998 · 2.0″ (hen egg)

A thunderstorm intensified rapidly over central portions of the county during the pre-dawn hours. The cell produced hail ranging from dime sized to as large as 2 inches in diameter in the town of Girdland. The larger hailstones inflicted some damage to homes and automobiles. A few cars had cracked windshields and some small windows on the upper level of homes were smashed.
